One of the biggest things I miss about real southern food other than sweet tea and peaches is corn nuggets.
Tonight, I went to Wings n’ Things in Pompano Beach with a boatload of people. As I was reading the menu of odd wing flavors (raspberry? yes they had raspberry…and they were gross), I came across corn nuggets. I literally stood up and declared to the group that corn nuggets were on the menu. I was so excited!
Of course I ordered them and shared the wealth with most everyone since they had never experienced the awesome flavor of molten hot, deep fried cream corn before tonight.
It was perfect. It makes me miss the evenings at Sonny’s Barbeque where I would always order them as my side dish…mmm.
